Are We Turning Into Robots?

This except from the 1981 movie My Dinner With Andre held a lot of truth about people in 1981, and it is even more true today! If you see a group of teenagers or young adults walking, they are staring at their phones. There recently was a law passed in New Jersey that people can now be ticketed by police for staring at their phones while walking because the problem got so bad. Selfie deaths were at an all-time high in 2015. Humans are clearly getting worse than becoming robots; we're becoming dumber than deer! And technology and the media play into this, adding fuel to the fire.

Good call, Al. Albert Einstein hit the nail square on the head. It's very sad to see because each new year seems to be worse than the last. The moral compass of humanity as a whole has also been plummeting at about the same speed, and there is no escape because the entire world has been following suit.

The best advice on how to escape this treacherous vortex is found in God's Word. In Romans 12:2, Paul tells the people of Rome not to conform to the pattern of the world. Sure, the phrase "Don't conform," may be very cliche and worn out, but it doesn't end there. Paul goes on to instruct the Romans to allow themselves and their minds to be renewed and transformed by letting God change the way that they think. Not only does this give us an escape, but it gives us hope! If we trust God and allow Him to transform us daily, we will break away from the secular downward spiral of our world. It will no longer have a grip on us, and it will no longer define us. Join in me greatly limiting exposure to the media and trusting God to transform the way that we think.

Make it an awesome day!
